RICHMOND — The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold a special virtual meeting on Thursday, April 23, 2020, to discuss the declared COVID-19 emergency and its effect on higher education in accordance with Section 2.2-3708.2 of the Code of Virginia and Governor Northam's Executive Order 51.
Council members will receive emergency-related briefings on agency operations, academic affairs, financial affairs, student affairs, enrollment impact and federal assistance. Council will take no action on any items.
In addition, Council will hear remarks from Secretary of Health and Human Services, Dr. Daniel Carey; Council of Presidents Chair and Chancellor of the University of Virginia's College at Wise, Dr. Donna Price Henry; and President of the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia, Mr. Robert Lambeth.
