RICHMOND — The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold its regularly scheduled meeting March 22-23 virtually. The meeting will include remarks from John Broderick, president of Old Dominion University; James Lane, Virginia superintendent of public education; and Tom Harnisch, vice president for government relations at the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association, as well as an education session on "Equity-Minded Policy Analysis" and a presentation from the Student Advisory Committee.
The Council’s Academic Affairs and Resources and Planning committees will meet beginning at 3:15 p.m. Council will take action on two new programs (Lord Fairfax Community College and Virginia Tech); an organizational change at George Mason; certification of a postsecondary institution (Bryant and Stratton College); and proposed final enrollment agreement regulations at postsecondary institutions.
The meeting also will include a review of program announcements from public institutions; an update on the graduate outcomes survey; and discussions of higher education funding from 2021 General Assembly, the six-year plan process and major projects impacting the committee in 2021.
