RICHMOND —  The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold two public meetings next week.

Council will meet with the Private College Advisory Board (PCAB) on May 18, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Agenda topics include remarks from Larry Simpert, President, Hampden-Sydney College, and Chair, Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia. In addition, Secretary of Health and Human Services, Daniel Carey; Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Trade, Angela Navarro; and Deputy Commissioner of Population Health, Laurie Forlano, will deliver remarks on the state of the COVID-19 response and recovery. Other topics of discussion include the safe reopening of college campuses and SCHEV updates on the Tuition Assistance Grant program and the Talent, Innovation and Equity grant.

On Tuesday, May 19, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Council will hold a one-day meeting rather than the originally planned two-day meeting.

Council also will receive briefings on the graduate outcome survey; fall 2019 enrollment; the launch of the SCHEV Insights blog; and the higher education and workforce alignment project.

These meetings are open to the public. Those wishing to participate must register in advance for both meetings using the links below.
