High school seniors, Virginia's college students walk you through 1-2-3 Go!, Virginia's 3 Steps to College in this 2 minute video:
From (1) finding the best fit, (2) to meeting application deadlines, (3) to figuring out how to pay for it all, the college process can be daunting and intimidating. We are offering a series of informational events (both virtual and in-person) and resources to help Virginia students and families through the process to GO to college.
The 1-2-3 Go! initiative is co-sponsored by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia and the Educational Credit Management Corporation.

ECMC College Nights in Virginia
October 2022 - April 2023
ECMC (Educational Credit Management Corp.) has sponsored College Nights in Virginia every year since 2007. Participating locations across the Commonwealth provide opportunities for students and families to learn and receive information about planning and paying for college. Students attending events will be able to enter a statewide drawing for one of twenty $1,000 scholarships. Events are open to the public.
Virginia College Application Week
October 24-28, 2022
College Application Week is part of a national initiative designed to increase the number of first-generation and low-income students pursuing a college degree or other higher education credential. Participating students are encouraged to submit at least one college application during the Week. In Virginia, select public high schools across the state coordinate a week of activities that provide their students hands-on college application assistance and resources, including application fee waivers and informational materials and support from postsecondary institutions. Super FAFSA Project Virginia
October 2022 -February 2023
Super FAFSA Project Virginia is an annual statewide initiative designed to increase completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) throughout the Commonwealth. ECMC and SCHEV partner with select Virginia high schools to host events where public high school seniors and their families receive hands-on assistance completing the FAFSA. Additionally, families and counselors receive valuable information through webinars and downloadable materials. Students attending events will be able to enter a statewide drawing for one of five $1,000 scholarships. The Super FAFSA Project page is available for more information.
Decision Days in Virginia
Starting May 1
Decision Day, sometimes referred to as Signing Day, celebrates the success of high school seniors in pursuing postsecondary education or training. Through celebrations and recognitions, sites can support students in making final decisions and remind them of next steps to enrollment. We encourage schools and communities to be creative when recognizing students and all postsecondary education decisions. The Decision Day page is available for updated ideas and resources to help plan your virtual celebration and support your students' decisions.
