RICHMOND — The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold its regularly scheduled Council meetings next week at the Virginia Community College System in Richmond.
The Council’s Academic Affairs, and Resources and Planning committees will meet Monday, October 24 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. The full Council will convene for its regular meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25. Ted Raspiller, president of Brightpoint Community College, will present remarks.
Topics include actions on proposed organizational changes at public institutions; budget and policy recommendations for FY 2024; institutional performance standards; recommendations from the study and report, “What Matters Most: Critical Student Issues Impacting Higher Education Experience, Persistence and Completion;”and bylaws changes and policy for all-virtual meetings.
In addition, Council will discuss the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA); themes from the six-year plans; and the status of full cost requirement for out-of-state distance students. Also, Terrell Dunn from HCM Strategists and Adam Burns from Edge Research will present findings from their “Where Are the Students?” study.
